Mr. Jennings confirmed during our April 2, 2014, interview that the Jayhawk we have definitely fits the time period of the mid-1920s. While he had mentioned that he had felt pennants from the period, valued at around $500, Ethel's Jayhawk was unique. He'd seen similar items, but he had never seen one that measured as big as our felt Jayhawk.
We spent quite a bit of time reviewing his own collection, recently purchased by donors for continued display at KU.
